Heineken 360° Development Accelerator
Heineken University is continuously looking for ways to safeguard and develop strong leadership in all levels of the company. Group HR has worked together with HR consultancy Cubiks to develop a unique online and customized Heineken 360º Development Accelerator assessment tool.
Main features
 
The Heineken 360 Development Accelerator supports accelerated development by helping individuals to gain insights into their actual behavior at work.
People who know the participant are asked to complete a questionnaire and provide feedback to the individual. That is how the tool offers different perspectives and insights regarding an individual’s strengths and development needs.
Shared in a team- or a leadership program, it can support change processes in your organization by giving insight in behavior and the consequences of that behavior. 
 
Heineken has used the tool very successfully for Leadership Talents and Emerging Professionals in e.g. the AME region, Italy and the Caribbean. It has also proved its added value in combination with team meetings and leadership programs for talents and senior managers. How it works
 
Participants are rated on their behavior by a number of people who can each offer different perspectives on the performance of the individual.
The participant completes a self-assessment on his/her behavior. Reviewers then complete a similar questionnaire. The reviewers usually include direct reports, peers, the individual’s
boss and sometimes clients/suppliers.
The resulting information is presented to the participant in a report that has been designed
to help them understand their skills and development needs, and recognize how they are
perceived by different individuals.
The information can form the basis for team development or for a leadership workshop, supporting organizational change.

For the individual
The 360° Development Accelerator provides structured feedback on behavior for the participants.
The process widens the feedback process beyond the conventional line manager / direct
report scenario. The credibility of the process is high and the feedback seen as balanced
and more relevant.
It provides information that helps participants to become more self aware and helps participants to develop in an accelerated way.
The 360° Development Accelerator process forms the basis for concrete and SMART
Individual Development Plans and it encourages participants to take responsibility
for their own development.
 
Costs and time investment
 
The average time from invitation to the creation of an Individual Development Plan
could be as fast as 5 weeks. Each Opco is responsible for the development and implementation of the tool in their own country.
 
The total project duration in an Opco is usually 10 weeks. The actual time investment for the project manager of an Opco is about 1 – 1.5 days per week during these 10 weeks.
 
Heineken and Cubiks have agreed on fixed prices for the translation of the tool and the obligatory training for feedback providers.
